Alright, well, we have learned about our parts of the instrument. We have learned how to purse our lips and make sound through the trombone. We've learned about our slide positions. And we've seen one of the scales. I'm going to play for you some scales now, some major scales that are building blocks for understanding the complexities of music. If I have a note here there is one piece that I did forget is the slide lock which is a small lock there. Now you don't want your slide to come zooping off, so you want to lock your slide. That's always helpful. Now unlock it if you wish to play it. Ordinarily the technique is a pinky around the stay, and a thumb. If you can see that, you can hold it with one hand, and it stays in one position. You can pretty much move it, as easy as you like. Sorry about that. So now we're going to play some scales, 'cause I have often times shot my slide. It slipped out of my hand and off it goes, and if it dents, it doesn't slide. This is going to the concert B flat major scale. B flat major.
