Egyptian Belly Dancing : Putting Moves Together, Part Two
Hi! My name is Sahira and I’m here on behalf of Expert Village to tell you all about belly dancing. So now that you have a few basic movements under your belt, the most common question that I’m asked by beginner student is “How do I put these movements together to dance?” and the simple answer is just turn on some music and dance, now that your body knows the movements, see what comes out when the music comes on. The more complicated answer if you wanted to choreograph something for yourself is to take the movements that you know and piece them together logically, belly dance really flows, in its essence belly dance is a physical expression of the music, listen to your music and see what it tells you to do, if you have very slow music perhaps you want to take your figure eight, make it nice and slow, really feel the movement at arms to some of your slower movements that match the movements, but sometimes you want the arms to be still, so all of the attention is focused on the isolation, perhaps that you’re doing in your hips.
