Thank you, very much! I knew warm ups and cool downs were important, but I really wasn't exactly sure what I was supposed to do for either. All I knew was that the current idea is that one musn't stretch for warm ups, as that could cause muscle injuries. (I'm pretty much trying to teach myself bellydance, through DVD's and online clips like your own, as I don't currently have access to a live instructor.) Your clip helped to shed light on what I suspected is a very important matter, not simply to dance, but to any athletic activity. Thank you, again!

Egyptian Belly Dancing : Cool Down
Hi! My name is Sahira and I’m here on behalf of Expert Village to tell you a little bit about belly dancing. After you’re done dancing it’s really important to cool down, the cool down is almost more important than the warmup in belly dance. Once your muscles are warm this is the time to really take a good stretch, typical stretches I’d do would be oblique stretches because you use these muscles a lot in belly dance, one of my personal favorites is this stretch, where you take one arm up towards the ceiling and really reach, take that same leg bend the knee and stretch all in the obliques, make sure you do it on both sides, nice and slow and breathe into to the movement. We also use the thighs quite a bit in belly dance, so any sort of thigh stretch perhaps here, leaning over, coming down to the ground, those are excellent stretches as well and sometimes even just doing your basic isolations once again at a very slow rate and really pushing them to stretch in and along all the muscles is an excellent way to cool down once you’re done belly dancing.
