How to Play the Two String Shuffle on the Mandolin
Hi! I am Michael Oberst with Expertvillage.com and I am a mandolin instructor. In this next segment I will be showing you a little thing called two string shuffle, now there is going to be some alternate picking here between two strings. So if you want to watch both hands, I will show you kind of what a shuffle would sound like. What we are going to do is play two notes on our open A string followed by one note played on our E string to start with. Which would sound, like this…then we can do two more notes on our A string and then one note on E string put those two together and it would be… and then follow it up with one note played on our A string and one on our E and then all those three together would be. Let me show you that one more time. That is kind of a shuffle pattern and once we get that up to speed a little more it could sound something like this. Now what we can do then is put a few other notes in there and change it around a little bit and start playing on some frets here. This is what it might sound if you threw in some other notes.
