Learn the Parts of the Mandolin
Hi! I am Michael Oberst with Expertvillage.com and I am a mandolin instructor. In this segment we are going to be talking about the different parts of the mandolin so you know what you are looking at when you are playing a new instrument. This is the headstock and these are the tuning keys. This piece here that holds the strings above the fret board is called the nut. This would be a fret board here, this would be the neck of the instrument, this is the body, these are F holes, the sound holes. The piece here holding the strings above the body of the mandolin is called the bridge. These are the strings of course, down here at the bottom we have the tail piece where the strings are attached.
