Main tools for canning. The main tools for canning are obviously, the canning jars. And this is a good kind of canning jar which has a seal on the inside which is then screwed in. Good quality canning jar. You will need a pressure cooker. Pressure cookers are very important in the canning and preserve process because they get to build up higher temperature than you can get with normal pot. That’s why you want to use a pressure cooker. It will kill more of the bacteria then you would be able to using a conventional pot. Then you will need a cutting board and probably several different knives. I very much love these Chinese style knives and smaller knives to do details and a peeler which we will be using for the beets.
