Hello! My name is Cindy Glover and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to talk about discipline. Now as a parent and I am sure you feel the same way, you will want your child in the supervision of staff that are positive with him and understand bad choices he may make and the reasons behind it. You will want to acquire and understand the center’s discipline policy. All accredited and licensed centers do have a positive guidance policy in place. The definition of discipline is guidance, not punishment. Therefore, teachers should be trained in using and having positive approaches to difficult behaviors or confrontations. You will want your child to be encouraged to show positive behavior and to be praised for them. A teacher that is well trained, if no injuries are involved, does her best to redirect a behavior before it turns negative. Also, she will praise children and recognize good behavior as to encourage the class to stay away from getting attention through negative behavior.
