How to Play B on A String: Bass Guitar Basics
Okay, well we've used our first finger and our third finger on the low E string to play F and G. Now let's go to the next string. We have open A as we recall. But to play the next natural on this string with no sharp or flat we're going to use our second finger here to play the second fret. It's going to be almost right on top of that thumb on back. A-B. Try alternating A and B, A and B and then alternating these fingers to play them. A with your first, B with your second, A with your first, B with your second. Then A with your first, B with your second. A with your second, B with your first. It's getting used to this, using your second finger is going to be important too. Just as important. Possibly trying to playing E, F, G, A, and B if you're feeling comfortable with the E string already.
