How & Why to Break Garlic Cloves

So now all we have to do is break the garlic up. You are going to plant one clove. One clove will grow in to one bulb. This is a bulb. This is as clove. One clove, one bulb. We grow a stiff neck or hard neck garlic, which I find it much better than the soft neck that you'll find in the grocery store. Notice it has large cloves around the center woody stock. It's much more flavorful, and it grows better in New England and it's much easier to use. You can see how easy it is to peel already. So, break it up. Look at the size of that clove. This variety will put out some smaller slivers in the middle. So that one bulb is going to produce one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine bulbs next year. And we'll do that again.
