Observing a Day Care Classroom

Hello! My name is Cindy Glover and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to talk about visiting a classroom before deciding on choosing a licensed childcare center. You are now down to a list of favorite centers. You will need to call and make sure that there is management staff available upon your arrival to escort you to your child’s age group to spend 1 to 2 hours in the classroom. While there, observe the following: Does the teacher interact with children in a positive manner? Do the children show decision making skills, or do they show the ability to settle confrontations with each other. Look for the required posted weekly lesson plan, daily schedule and child teacher ratio numbers for every age group.
