Now we are going to go over our A flat altered scale which is the 7th mode of the harmonic minor but we are going to look at it a little bit more simpler then that we are just going to look at the pattern. So remember a diminished pattern half step, whole step, half step, so it starts off just like that with the same pattern and then it goes in completely whole steps. So whole step, half step, whole, whole ,whole so you got this nice pattern. So if you really look at it you have the 2 black notes here and then all these white notes. So it is that nice simple pattern you hear it all the time in funk and when we go through and do minor 2,5s where you do 2 in the chord of 5 to the chord to the 1 you are going to do a E flat, locrian or half diminished to 5 altered, 2,1 minor. Oh wait I'm sorry. So you can hear that tension there and how it releases so go through and learn your altered scale and start doing some minor 2,5s.
