How to Arrange a Fruit Tray

Hi! I'm Josiah Own with Expert Village. Today we're going to be making a fruit tray. Watch our other videos on how to chop up the fruit. You just want to put them into one-inch chunks. We're going to start off with our tray putting the pineapple. Just go right around the little edge right there. We've used these trays because they have bowl built in. It's going to be a nice place to put our fruit dip. After we put the pineapple, we're going to start with the watermelon. With these it doesn't really matter if the pieces are in one inch chunks. If they're a little bit smaller that's okay because they're going to fit in nicely like with the skewers, they need to bit enough so they don't fall off. With here though you can either use toothpick or a fork to pick them up. While making your fruit tray, if you just want to make sure that you don't have too many of the same colors right beside each other. We opted not to use the cantaloupe after the watermelon because it would go red then orange, but instead we went with the honeydew. That way we can go red then green. Now we can use the cantaloupe and go orange. That, the honeydew, and the cantaloupe have similar tastes. Go right around trying to keep the same form as the rest of the fruit. Go back to the pineapple again, just fitting right in with the rest of the fruit. After this we can go ahead and fill in the top little portion with strawberries. You don't really want to throw the strawberries down there, but you want to make them look nice and neat at first for your presentation. After your down plating all your fruit, you want to go ahead and fill in our bowl area with some of our strawberry fruit dip. Watch our other videos to learn how to make that. There you have it; a fruit tray. Great for barbecues.
