Pulse Control During Magic Card Tricks

My name is Wayne Phelps and I am a professional magician and we are here with Expert Village.com. You are going to love this trick. It is a really great way to get your friends who would like to play poker. What you do is just ask them if they can say stop whenever they want. Of course they will. You tell them to take the top card that you’ve cut to, memorize that card and then put it back in the deck. They can shuffle it all they want, you can even have them cut the deck if they so desire. Once the deck has been cut, simply return to the table and spread the cards out. Once the cards have been spread, simply take them by the wrist and tell them that when you play poker there are certain things known as Tells that give away what card or cards that they are holding. One of the biggest Tells is the pulse rate and by their pulse alone you can determine what card they selected, take them by the wrist and have them wave their hand over the cards. As you do so you will pick up vibrations and you will be able to eliminate cards they did not select. Go ahead and give it another shuffle, another quick spread and now the moment of truth. I will wave your hand over the cards and by your pulse alone I will know which card is yours. You raise up their selected card, you show them and say congratulations, there is your card; that is the pulse trick. Now let’s teach you how it is done. To do the pulse trick you simply need to know what the top card is and in this case it is the 2 of spades. That stays on top, you do a slip force to force on the spectator, they say stop, which is the card they have, that is the card they memorize. At this moment in time, you can give them the deck and have them shuffle, it does not matter. They can cut it as many times as they want, it does not matter. You know what the card is. When they hand the deck back to you, simply spread the cards out, make sure they can see their card and grab them by the wrist or ask them if you can touch them by wrist in case they are a little funny about that. Now when you have them by the wrist, explain to them that in poker there are certain tells, so you go through the pattern the heart rate is the best tell of all. You can wave your hand back and forth and judging by the pulse you can tell what card it is that they selected. You go back and forth a few times and you eliminate cards as you do, each time you eliminate cards you can shuffle the deck up. I do the shuffle because I think it adds dramatic attention and it really sells the trick. You go back and forth until you’ve got a couple of cards remaining one of which you know is their card and then you find it; move it forward and you have just performed the miracle and also your friends will never play poker with you again and that’s the Pulse Trick.
