Straddle Stretch for Martial Arts Fitness
The next stretch is a saddle stretch. You want to open your legs as wide as you can. The most important thing is don't open them so far that your knees rolls in like that. That's really bad for your knees and the rest of your body. You want your knees to point to the ceiling. What I do when I stretch forward to help keep my knees from rolling in as I put my hands in here and really push it in. As I go forward, try to minimize the knees. Always want to roll in and just hold them back like that. Then the same thing when you change the point. I like to do flex and then point because it's 2 different stretches. If you're flexing or pointing, it works different muscles. If you're pointing, you change to point and still put your hands in here really tight and lead with chest and your back flat, and then go down. Now, if you can't go all the way, just start from wherever you are, hold here, and then just go until you feel it. If you have a friend with you, you can have them put their feet here in front of you so you don't roll in.
