Downward Dog Pose for Martial Arts Fitness
One of my favorite stretches for the lower body because it gets the hamstrings, the calf, the Achilles, your lower back, your upper back, and your neck. If you drop your neck and relax it, it is the downward dog. This is my favorite place to start for the whole body warm-up. You're going to walk your hands out. As you’re doing the downward dog, push with your hands so that your tailbone goes up to the ceiling and then drive your heels down into the ground and totally let your neck relax. That is really important.
