Hi! My name is Julio Anta from Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense in Miami, Florida and my website is www.miamikettlebell.com. And continuing with Kettlebell for martial artists, the next move is a unique move for the martial artist. You can call them side lunges, or snakes. In my system of Kung Fu, we do the snake moves; and this is really going to strengthen your hips and your legs, including your abductors and side. Two ways to grip it, depending on how hard you want to make this move. One way, we are going to bring it up; we can hold it like this. And then, we are just going to open up our legs, back straight, butt a little bit out as always—and your torso can move forward—and we are going to snake from side to side, stretching your legs and working your abductors and your inner thigh as you do that. Or, you want to make a little bit more difficult, have more weight on you, because you are not just working legs, you are working shoulders, forearms and all that. We can do with what they call the “bottoms up.” What we just did is called “by the horns,” and the next one we are going to show you is bottoms up. Bottoms up makes it a little harder, and you are working a lot more forearm and wrist training. And another version that we can do is grip it like this, like if you’re holding an urn, working more shoulders now. So those are different variations on how to do the snake with kettlebells.
