16mm Films: Focusing & Volume

Hi! I am Grady Johnson with Karma Train Productions. Today, we are discussing 16 mm films and I’m representing Expert Village.com. Now, we’ve already setup our camera and we got a good picture going here and it’s all lined up the way we want it to be. Our distance is really good; we got a nice big image on the screen, but guess what? It’s not in focus and we can’t hear a thing. It’s just a matter of working with these buttons right here and you can see this here is a standard focus ring and it operates this particular lens. You can see when I’m pulling this out, it’s changing the focal length so what I am doing is I’m adjusting that and I’m just going to look right up here on the picture until that sharpens up to exactly where I want it. Now to do that we are going to have this little ring right here and you will find the focus ring, we will be able to sharpen it. Now you will finally have a mean point, where it will come together for you and when you find that right focus you will know it, it will pop right into place. Now that I’ve got that to crystal clarity, I want to go ahead and bring up my volume. That’s down here, you got two knobs, one is for the actual volume and one is for the tone. So let’s pull up the volume alone, ah! we have started to hear a little bit. Now we are going to go ahead and work with the tone; here we go. Now that sounds a little better. Now you can’t actually plug this particular projector into a larger sound system as well and if you wanted to do that, then just work off the knobs on the sound system. But you know you can hear this just fine; actually this can get pretty loud. Now we are ready to watch films.
