Hi! I am Grady Johnson. I’m with Karma Train Productions and today I’m talking a little about 16 mm films. I’m representing Expert Village.com. To start with you want to get a table that’s about this height. You can go a little higher if you want, but be sure it’s something that you are going to be able to get down over so that when you are putting the films on you are not having to reach way up over your head. So usually I like about this height. I’m not a particularly tall guy, so it’s going to vary with each person. Now you may want to use a card table with some legs that you can fold out, store away or if you get something permanent that you setup, then that works just as well. So what you want to do is go ahead and put your projector up on here and then just set it up there right away. We’re going to set it up and align it a little bit later. Go ahead and get that wheel on the front, set up a little bit there so that it stays steady, and find your plug, and go ahead and plug it in your power source. Once you have got it plugged in, go ahead and take your cover off, and be sure you put that behind the working area of the projector, that way you are not tripping over it. Then you want to pop up these arms real quick, pop those into place, and go ahead and grab your takeup reel. Here is our film we are going to use today. I am going to put that upfront so that I can get to it easily and I am going to go ahead and pop on my takeup reel. Now a couple of things I want to check before I start today, I want to be sure that it’s moving forward properly, which it is of course. We turn it and check and make sure that the reverse is working just as well and be sure that my lamp is working. Once I turn my lamp on, I am going to be able to go ahead and line that up where I need on the screen and go ahead and set our level where we like it. Now we know this was going to have to come up a little bit and then it looks like its pretty straight already. Now some of these projectors, the bottom will be gone. If you buy an old projector particularly, you might find some of the feet are uneven or that kind of thing so you can level that on till you get a leveled screen. Once you do that a few times you’re going to get the hang in there pretty quickly, that’s all you need basically to go ahead and get started and set up your projector.
