ATV Gloves & Thumb Throttle Extensions

On behalf of Expert Village, my name is David and I am here to tell you about ATV's and accessories that go with them. Hand protection is always a good idea. I've got enough scars on my knuckle to attest to that. Anyways, gloves. These are a motor cross style glove, a summer weight thing. Very simple, good protection, gives you good control with your machine and if you do happen to crash, you've got some abrasion protection. For the Winter time driving, something like a Winter glove. These are insulated, these have a Gor-tex liner, water proof. These will keep your hands all nice and toasty warm in all but the worst weather and you still would be better off than if you had none at all. Drip heaters might be an idea if you like a lot of cold weather driving and that is readily available too; about $50 on up. This is known as a throttle extension or in this case, thumb assist if I may. On a regular machine you have a small thumb throttle here and it works quite well but on long trip it just seems to get a little hard on your thumb to hold it there. What the extension does is it brings it out where you can actually instead of resting the weight of that throttle on your thumb, you can bring it into you hand, into the meat of your hand and just go like so with your entire hand. Rest it there. It is a lot more comfortable for a long trip.
