How to Find Volunteers for a Political Campaign
Hi, this is Jim Goettler on behalf of Expert Village. This has been a series of videos about managing a political campaign. As I've said a number of times, there's no possible way I can cover everything for every type of campaign that may be taking place anywhere in the country. I'm hoping to give you a little bit, a little bit of a taste of at least the questions you need to ask further if you're planning to either run for office or planning to manage a campaign for somebody else. One of the most magical, wonderful parts of a campaign are what we call the volunteers. The volunteers are people who give a little bit of their time, a little bit of their energy to a campaign or an initiative to get it on the ballot. These are folks who believe at the core of any civil society relies on the people who live in the community. This is who the volunteers are. Respect them; help them plug in at whatever level they're comfortable at, not necessarily what you need, but also what they need. What kind of time allotment they have. Make it fun for them, make it entertaining for them. Keep in mind all the thank you need to give the volunteers for all of the data base work they may do, and the door belling they may do, the taking the literature around the neighborhood thing they do, the phone calls they may do, more of the phone calls they may do. But thank them. Honestly appreciate their effort and their work. Because they are the campaign. This is why we do what we do, to bring the people into the community back into the process. So they can affect their own communities. It's pretty great, it really can work. I'd like to thank you all for listening to this whole series of how to manage a political campaign and I urge you to watch the other productions. Thanks a lot.
