Distributing Surveys for a Political Campaign
Hi, this is Jim Goettler with Expert Village. This is a video about managing a political campaign. One of the elements often overlooked in campaigning is the need to respond to the surveys that come in the mail. They will come in the mail from outside organizations that you may or may not have ever heard from. Folks who are trying to gain your attention are going to send you surveys, often representing large groups of people. It's very important that people on your staff do not simply throw these things into a waste basket, which I know has happened. As a matter of fact, I worked on a campaign a few years ago that managed to forget to open hundreds, and I do mean hundreds, of surveys. Each of those surveys may not mean anything to you; however, they probably mean a great deal to the membership of the organizations that sent those things out. So I cannot stress strongly enough, the need to open up those surveys, fill them out, have the candidate sign off on them, or have the candidate fill them out if possible. You need to remember that each of those surveys, while coming from a name that you may not recognize, most likely represents a large portion of your community that honestly want to know how your candidate feels about their issue and where their passion is about the issue, so that they in turn can make the judgment on whether or not to support a candidate. The next segment that I'm going to touch on is the outside Advisory Board so that many campaigns that would like to have them may do so. Thanks.
