Setting Up a Field Office for a Political Campaign
Hi, this is Jim Goettler on behalf of Expert Village. This is a video about managing a political campaign. This segment I want to touch briefly on the steps in a field office, especially if you're doing a state-wide campaign or if your campaign or initiative campaign is covering a larger geographic area. It's really nice for people to have a local office they can go to. So if you're dealing with a large county, sometimes even a large city, think about opening, having, more than one office space that people can go into. They need not be fancy, which I'll get to in a minute, but they should be places where people can feel comfortable to go into. If you're in a state with multiple area codes, think in terms of having offices in different area codes so people need not make a long distance call to contact your office. Some states have an office, especially for initiative campaigns that are in major city as well as a small town. The small town need only be a very tiny office, a voice mail, a PO Box--some way to have a local presence for their campaign so folks realize it's not all being focused in the larger cities. It's real good for your campaign; it's excellent for the people who you are trying to reach. The next segment I want to touch on ways to make those small offices a little nicer than the usually drab campaign office. Thanks.
