Handling Kids at a House Concert

Hey! This is Jim Goettler with Expert Village and this is a video about producing a house concert. One of the questions that is probably going to come up is whether or not you invite kids to the concert. If you are going to be doing a series of house concerts, which I strongly suggest because they are a lot of fun, it would be great to program in some kiddy concerts. Program concerts that might happen in the afternoon or Saturday afternoon, kid performers are performers that are comfortable working with kids. I think kids need to be exposed to music and exposed to poetry and culture and all the fun stuff that grown ups like but also consider having some concerts in the evening not for kids. Time for grown ups to be grown ups. It may be difficult limiting yourself a little bit but think about having kids performances. I think that kids are short people and need to be exposed as much as they can so don't write them off. The next thing I am going to get to is the fun stuff of house concerts having food around and snacks and just enjoying ourselves. Thanks.
