Types of Bowling Shoes

Hi, I am Ed Kramarcik, PBA member and AMF staff player. We are here at Rip the Rack Pro Shop in Longwood, Florida and I would like to go over some shoes…on the typical shoes, you should use as a beginner bowler and if you are an advanced bowler, also what kind of shoes you should wear. Differences between universal shoes and high-performance shoes are that the soles and heels are removable. On the universal shoe you have a slide on both feet, and I am going to demo that for you right now. If you look at these shoes, both sides are universal. And it slides on both feet. With a high-performance shoe, you have a break shoe and you have a slide shoe. On your slide shoes you have a slide that is Velcro-ed on which is removable. It comes off to demonstrate whatever slide you want to use. If you want a long slide you would go with a high number. If you want less slide, you would go with a low number. They come in eights, sixes, twos, tens. The higher the number the more slide. Ten is your biggest slide. On your heels, they also get remove. They are Velcro-ed, they come off the shoe; use a cleat remover they come off. And, if you need more brake, you would have a brake heel. You would change if you need to stop and you don’t wanna slide as much, afraid of falling down. Difference between a high-performance shoe, you can change the slide to fit your game. And, also, if you are a right-hander you would have your slide on your left foot. If you are a left-hander, the slides gonna be on your right foot. That’s the difference between universal and high-performance shoes. Like I say, universal it doesn’t matter if you are righty or lefty, it is just a standard shoe. Thank you and go out and bowl a good game.
