What Do Chiropractors Do?

Hello my name is Dr. Scott Rothman from the Wayne Chiropractic Health Center and on behalf of Expert Village.com this segment we are going to speak to you a little about what chiropractors do. Practically speaking chiropractors are primarily concerned with locating and treating vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a complex of functional and or structural and pathological changes that compromise neural integrity or the integrity of the nerves and may influence organ system function in general health. Using a number of highly refined skills, the chiropractor checks the patient’s spine for any misalignments, fixations or other abnormalities. If subluxations or other abnormalities are detected, the chiropractor will gently apply a gentle force in a corrective manner to the affected area of the spine and correct the misalignments. Chiropractors use many specialized techniques to identify and treat these spinal abnormalities and optimize overall health. In addition to spinal adjusted techniques, soft tissue techniques such as massage, dietary and nutritional counseling, physical therapy and lifestyle modification programs are also commonly employed.
