How to Record Midi Tracks in Digital Performer

Hi! In this clip, I will demonstrate how to record a Midi Track and edit it in Digital Performer. If you notice in the control panel, we have a 120 feet per minute and we have a memory start on the third measure, first beat and you can move this by just clicking and dragging it in time line and hit stop, it goes back there. Our kick drum is in record enable, right there and on the control panel as well, we have this button that says wait. It waits for you to hit a note on the keyboard to start. So if you go ahead and put in record, it won't really start until we do that. So we will start recording our kick drum. All right and we highlight it and region quantas. Notice this quantas box comes up and I have it set on 8th notes; sensitivity 100 percent, strength 100 percent. We will apply it and then we will go down to the snare drum track. This time we are not going to wait. We are going to start recording right away. So I have made accounted and try that. Space bar to stop. Again, we will highlight those, that region quantas it to 8th notes, apply. Now we have set the drum beat. Now we will copy and paste the drums that we just created so we can to a guitar. So highlight the 3 tracks, command C, you copy and just right in front of it on the next measure 4, highlight 3 tracks with control V. We'll keep doing that and copy and paste.
