This is D.J. Brasby for Expert Village. We are going over making beats with the MPC. We are going to sample sound into the MPC so to do that you turn your main volume all the way down, you hit shift in four; that will take you to your sample screen. Now we are in sample mode. This is the volume of your sample coming in. It starts recording after these marks and to begin the recording, we hit here which puts into a ready mode. It will start once our sound goes over this marker or you can start manually by pressing the start key. We are going to start our sample. Once you sample, it asks you to name it. You can name it using the keypads. It works just like text messaging. On the phone you just press till you get to the name you want and you can assign it. We are not going to assign it. To assign it you press the cursor down, choose what pad you wanted to be assigned to, hit keep and it puts you back in sample mode.
