Programming the Pads on an Akai MPC Drum Machine
This is D.J. Brasby here for Expert Village. We are going over the MPC. We are going to assign our sound to a pad. You want to hit shift 6; that will take you into the drum program. We are just going to choose drum one and if you want to name the program you can do that right here by hitting open window typing in the name. This is the note, it gives you a number and that’s the name of the sound. If you hit any pad it changes to the name of that note and if there is no sound there, it says off. Here this we have assigned to note 49. That sound is the name of our drum sound and if you go into parameters by hitting F2, you get various features of the sound which you can control and we will go over that in another step.
