Rise the Salt Rising Bread Loaf

Hello my name is Jenny Bardwell and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village with my colleague Susan Brown and we are going to teach you today how to make salt rising bread. After you have set the loaves in your pan a well greased pan it is time to let these loaves to rise. This could take anywhere from oh about 2-3 hours if you got a a really good sponge that the bread would rise very quickly. But usually about 2 hours. So again the bread has to be kept in a warm temperature around a 100 degrees as the rest of the process. What Jenny often does for this is we set our oven in about 100-175 and when it gets to that temperature we turn the oven off, put the bread in, cover it with a towel. Just a thin dish towel works and put it in the oven and it will rise in like I said about 2 hours and when it rises to the edge of the pan you are ready to bake. We also grease the top. I think it helps to let it rise sometimes if it get to dried out on top it won't rise up.
