Laying Outside Pieces for Building a Bookshelf

Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we will be laying out our outside pieces. The next pieces we nee4d to cut are two outside pieces. Once we have these cut, we will be able to form the hull of our project. Now my side pieces are going to go from the top all the way down to the very bottom. My overall measurement is 31 inches. However, I need to subtract 3/4 of an inch for how thick that top piece is. The depth on those are then going to be 10 inches. Now since we are putting trim on the sides, we need to subtract 3/4's of an inch from 10 inches to get the other measurement for our side. So our two sides then are going to be 9 1/4 inches by 30 1/4. I have those two side pieces coming out of the bottom corner of my sheet of plywood. I have already cut off my top and bottom piece so I will be able to make a cross cut straight across there and then rip my sides. So on the remainder of my plywood, I am going to cross cut and I am going to rip out each piece.
