How to Apply Lipstick for a Bowie Costume

Hi! This is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about using lipstick and nail polish with your David Bowie costume. Now, with lipstick you're going to need 3 things. You're going to need lip liner. You're going to need lipstick, and you're going to need lip-gloss. The first thing you do is draw a shape around your lips with the lip liner. Now, since David Bowie has very thin lips, you want to make sure that its not too thick. If you have thicker lips like me, try to draw the line a little bit inside your actual lip line. Then fill in with lipstick. Be very careful with the lipstick. Make sure you don't get it too thick outside the edges. Otherwise, you're going to look like a clown. Then apply a lip-gloss. Get something nice and shiny so your lips are going to stand out. For nail polish, pick a nail polish that's very shiny. Something metallic like what I've got here, which also matches my pants. Shake it up, and then apply one coat to each nail starting at one end and going to the next. Just some lines like that. Then wait about 5 minutes and then apply a second coat. Wait for it to dry. Your nails are done. If you get a little bit of nail polish on your skin, when you take a shower you can scrub it off. A lot of scrubbing will get rid of that. An important thing to remember to buy along with a nail polish though, it nail polish remover because chances are after you're done with the costume, you're not going to want to go around with bronze nail polish.
