Questions & AnswersHi! This is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about selecting earrings for your David Bowie costume. Now, no David Bowie costume would be complete without earrings, but not everybody has pierced ears. If you don't already have your ears pierced don't go out and get it done just for the costume, unless you're really ambitious. You can get clip-ons, which will work almost as well. In my case, I've picked out these earrings. Reason is they're very shiny, they're gold, which is going to match my tights and they're long. That's important too. The reason is when I have my wig on my ears are going to covered by the mullet hair. If I have short earrings here they're not even going to be visible, so what's the point. David Bowie's earrings are generally on the large side. They're not always as long as this. For my purposes, I want the earring to actually be visible when I'm wearing the mullet. If that's annoying for you because they're going to be dangling and making a lot of noise, then okay go for shorter ones, but then you're going to have to tuck your hair behind your ears. Where to find the earrings. You can go to cheap retail stores and get them for a couple bucks. Don't spend a lot of money on these. The uglier stuff is cheaper and is better for your costume. Earrings like these were only a couple of bucks and they're absolutely perfect. More expensive earrings wouldn't work so well with a costume.
