Hi! This is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village. I am here to talk to you about how to pick your specific David Bowie costume. So you've done the research, you've checked all these different costume possibilities, you've figured out generally what you want and now it's time to settle on a design. Now there are different factors to take into account. First of all, what is your budget like. Can you afford to buy something that involves lots of different supplies, expensive clothing? If not, you want to pick a costume that is simpler that involves material that you already have. Another thing to consider is your body type. If you are not as skinny as a rail, then you are not going to want to wear a costume that involves not having a shirt, you know just tights and a feather boa, Then you might want something that has a whole jacket and long pants and everything. Also you should consider your skill level in terms of tailored clothing. If you want something that looks like an exact match of a costume that you saw in line, unless you can actually afford to buy the materials and have the tailored for you, it's not worth doing it. You want something that is homemade. In fact the fun thing about glam music is that most of their costumes were homemade. In my case, I have enough of a budget to pick the materials that I want but I am not particularly handy with a sewing machine so I am going to get homemade stuff and doctor it up a little bit to match my needs. These boots for example are part of a costume that I selected because they are fairly simple and not that expensive but I didn't go with a costume that involved a matching top and bottom because I don't want to deal with all the tailoring and I would rather pick out items myself and that is more fun.
