Hi, I'm Liz Hood on behalf of Expert Village and right now I am going to be talking about just a good to do list for your last trimester. Now, one thing that you definitely need to go ahead and do is to pack your hospital bag. It's always good to just have that packed so that you don't have to worry about that. When you pack that you also need to make a little note of stuff that you use everyday up until then that you are going to have to add. There is nothing worse than rushing around at the last minute trying to just think of stuff off the top or your head, you know everyday stuff that you use, like deodorant, toothbrush, stuff like that that you really wouldn't want to be stuck at hospital with out for two or three days. Another thing that you are going to need to go ahead and not only get but to also install into your car is your infant car seat. Now, it is now against the law for hospitals to let a baby leave unless they are in a correctly installed car seat. Now, if you happen to not have a car, it would be good to go ahead and do a run through session with a taxi service and just install it just for practice just so that you know how to do it so that when you are very tired and wanting to go home from the hospital it's not too big of a hassle. Another thing to go ahead and do is to pre-register at the hospital. Now, I went ahead and did that and still when I showed up I still had lots of paper work to do while I was going through contractions every five minutes or less. So, but it definitely cut down on the paperwork that I had to do at that moment, so that was good. Another thing to do is make sure that you always have lots of gas in your car. Don't let it go down less than one fourth of a tank. You shouldn't really do that anyway but I am kind of one of those people that likes to play it risky with the gas tank but you definitely don't want to do that in the last trimester of your pregnancy. Another thing that you should go ahead and do is to set up everything in your nursery. Go ahead and have everything that needs to be assembled, assembled. Go ahead and wash enough baby clothes to last about a week or so. Take off the tags, go ahead and run it through your washer once and put it into your changing table drawer or whatever dresser you have in your nursery but you don't want to wash more than about one weeks worth of clothing. My baby was a very average baby, he weighed eight pounds two ounces, actually he was a little bit higher on the average side, but he actually never fit some of the clothes that he got at my baby shower so you might want to wait on washing every single item of baby clothing that you have just in case you have to return some of it because either they out grow it before your able to use it or they never fit it right or you know something like that. So, just wash a couple of things at first until you actually bring your baby home. Another thing that you need to do is, I found it extremely handy to go ahead and pack a diaper bag and have that ready so that once the baby is home and I kind of need to go somewhere last minute I am suddenly not wondering what on earth I would need to take for a baby. There is nothing worse than being stuck out somewhere and not having something very necessary for your baby.
