How to Pick a Shirt for a Rock Star Halloween Costume

Hi! This is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about picking a shirt for your rock start costume. Now, the shirt you pick is going to depend on the particular type of rock star you decide to be. In my case, I'm going as a Brit rocker, so the kind of shirt that I want is a very simple long sleeved black shirt. It's good because it covers my arms, which have hair on them, which is typically not usual for a Brit rocker, and it's form fitting and slimming. If you're going as a 70's rocker, you're going to want vintage 70's shirt like this. Make sure when you wear it, you don't button up to much. Make sure that about half your chest is showing if you really want the 70's look. If you decide you want to go as a grudge rocker, dirty old vintage rock t-shirt is the way to go. Something like this, which has been around for about 30 years or so in my family and it is very worn thin. Something like this is perfect. The grungier, the dirtier, the better. If you're going as a punk, you want a plain white t-shirt that you've written all over and then cut off the sleeves for extra emphasis. The important thing about the shirt is that it matches the rest of the costume and gives a sense of the character you're trying to portray. So, if you're going for Britpop, you want something that looks very neat and slim and sophisticated, where as if you're going for grudge you want the exact opposite. You want something that's dirty and old and marked up. The shirt is actually not the most important part of the costume because chances are you're going to be wearing some sort of jacket on top of it. If you're trying to figure out how to budget your money, spend more on the jacket then on the actual shirt because you can cover up the shirt anyway with the jacket.
