How to Record a Real Instrument: GarageBand Tutorial

This is Bill Macpherson for Expert Village in this clip I would like to show you how to record an audio instrument. Now we're going to go down here and create a new track it will give you a choice software instrument or real instrument track. We're going to choose real instrument track hit create now that will bring up our track info you go down here you can see our input source, monitor, and recording level. Now we're using a Motu and the guitar is on channel 3 so we're going to choose that you want to turn the monitor on so we can hear it. The next thing you want to do is choose your effects we can choose guitars we're using a guitar and we can go with jazz, blues anyone of these types of sounds they have up here. We're going to use thick jazz and hit your record on your transport (playing) You can listen to it back (playing) that's how you record real instrument garageband '08, I'm Bill Macpherson for Expert Village.
