Conventional or Beginners Bowling Grip

Hi, I am Ed Kramarcik, we are at Rip The Rack Pro Shop. I am a AMF staff player and PBA member since 1989. Today I want to go over conventional grip, which is a beginners’ grip. When you visiting a bowling center, what you want to look for is whatever size that you need, but you want to make sure that your hand goes all the way in the ball and right to the knuckles and that is called a conventional grip. It is a beginners’ grip and the reason why it is a beginners’ grip is because it will give you more fundamentals to hold on to the ball, get more hand in the ball and you will have more control for your game. You want to make sure that the ball is not too tight where you are getting any friction on your fingers because that will tend after a while you will get a blister and you do not want that. so whenever you go to a bowling alley you want to make sure to look for a conventional grip ball which is – conventional means your fingers go all the way to the knuckle and the thumb goes all the way in the ball. And this would give your hand, to sit on your hand properly where you would get more control on the lanes.
