How to Create a Podcast: GarageBand Tutorial

Hi this is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm hear to talk to you about how to create a podcast in garageband. Now a podcast is a recording that you make that you can broadcast over the internet like a radio broadcast. It's very simple to do in garageband when you open up garageband click on create new podcast episode, give it a name, hit create and now I have a whole template setup for my recording. So what I have here are different track options that I can use to record since I'm a male I'm just going to click make voice, and if I hit record I can record my voice using my microphone. This is my podcast for Expert Village it's a test and I have nothing interesting to say. I stop it now I got my recording (playing) now that I got that recording I can change the way it sounds, first I'm going to boost the volume a little bit (playing) and going over here I can pick a different sound in the track info section. Maybe I'll go with male narrator you can always see how that sounds (playing) or I can try I chat voice (playing) there's also a section for me to add a jingle which is the music that we played before during and after a vocals. So I'm going to click and drag a song from the jingle section from itunes, so let's take a listen so you'll notice that the volume of the jingle went down when my voice started. This happens automatically to make it a very smooth transition for you, once your finished with this you can export your podcast and you can have it online right away.
