Hello, my name’s Melissa and on behalf of Expert Village today I’m going to teach you a couple of different ways to make the perfect cup of hot apple cider. So as we mentioned earlier you can either do this on the stove, in a crock-pot or the way I’m going to show you now is to use your coffee maker, which is a great, simple easy and relatively fast. The great part is you can dump everything in and let it infuse, walk away, go run your errands and then when you friends come over you’re good and ready to do. If you’re having a party, the crock-pot is the way to go, obviously one, because it will hold more, this is really for entertaining your friends or a couple of people, the crock-pot two, fabulous because you can walk away from it versus having to wait for it to come to a boil on the stove and then having to put it into cups and such. With the crock-pot at parties, you can have a ladle there, you can decorate your area, if you’re going to have a Halloween theme or a wintry theme, and it’s great, everyone can help themselves. So let’s prepare this. What we need to do, is you take as much apple cider as you want, put it into your crock-pot or your coffee maker cup here, first, so and then the next part of this is, we’re going to take, um you’ve got a couple of different choices to make here. If you’re going to put in some orange slices, you can put them in now. I tend to not do this. These are things that people often do, is they’ll put in some dark brown sugar, usually about a quarter cup, depending if it’s in a larger crock-pot a bit less if you’re putting it in something like this. Again I’m not really into the brown sugar, it is something that you can experiment with. This is all to taste, so you can try that in it, if you like. I’m going to leave that out today. Next we’re going to put in some whole cloves, now the other thing that people recommend that I’ve uh, spoken to, is that you either put all of this in cheesecloth and you wrap it up and then you drop it in, or you can use a coffee strainer, here you can put everything in that, close it up, and put it in too. But really I like to just throw everything in and instead of me having to deal with all of this, pulling it out, throwing it out, really all you need to do, that floats, makes it look great and especially for parties if you’re going in to use a crock-pot you don’t want to have all of this in there, it’ll look not so nice. So if you’re pouring cups and people are worried about it you can always use a strainer if you want to, but the good old-fashioned ladle will usually, you can usually get anything out if you don’t want the cloves or a cinnamon stick in there, you can kind of work with that. So, we’re not going to use any of this stuff today, again if you want to when you’re pouring it, you can use the strainer to get anything out, cloves and such, but for now, because it’s for more people we’re going to put in a couple, two to three cinnamon sticks, we’ll drop those in there, uh, we’ll put in three today, and then we’re going to put in some cloves. This we’ll put in about four to five, so we’ll put in; one, two, three, four, five, drop them in there and the same with the whole all spice, we’re going to put a couple of those in as well, again it you want to use the cheesecloth, you’re more than welcome too, or you want to. Even if you have one of those loose tea ball holders, they’re great as well, you can drop those in. So we’ll put in about three to four of the whole all spices, again we’re just trying to add more flavor. It’s really as simple as that, close that up, put it on top, on top, in your crock-pot or turn on the coffee maker and away you go.
