Tips for Making Halloween Candle Centerpieces

Hi this is Ginny Larson with Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to be making a variety of versatile of center pieces. Now that we have a focal piece of our center piece establish we need to fill in around. There are many are many different things you can do to fill in around in the centerpiece. But for this one because it is a Halloween as well as a fall theme. I'm going to start with a base of ralpha , I play with it a little bit to see what I like. I don't need to cover my entire floral circle cause I'm going to be putting leaves in here to. But I think I kind of like the hay or straw theme that comes along with my cube cover paper towels tube. So I think I want to put some ralpha in here just to give it some of that country look. That is probably all that it would need and I really don't need to glue it on but I could. But before I do that I want to establish some leaves and I want to put my larger leaves first and after that I put in some of the smaller leaves. The main thing that I want to do is cover the entire base now with leaves. I would try to do different colors next to each so it won't have all the same effect. So I'm going to go all around my base. Before I glue or secure anything I like to put it in and see if that is exactly the way it is going to look, do I like that way, is there something that I want to change. If you do that before you glue it then you are not going to work so hard to get it apart. Use a variety of colors on here so it would end with a bigger leaves, maybe a few out on the plate and of course I want to cover up this part of the floral circle where it is expose and for that of course I'm going to use my larger leaves. There are even bigger leaves in this and I could if I wanted to take leaves off of a pit and put them around as well. So you have a variety of different things you can use or you can even use some of your smaller floral picks. Once you have gotten your bigger leaves established around your center piece and you like the way they look go ahead and take your Elemers glue and just put a little dab of glue and attach it down to the base. Just with one little spot would be all you want to do it because once it is there the rest of the leaves are going to stay in use an look more natural. After you have gotten you larger leaves around I like to take a little sparky leaves and put them on the top so what the sparkles show. Once the sparkle leaves are established I like to take my little pumpkins and squashes again put a little dab of glue on them and just put them around on the center piece here and there and not in any kind of symmetrical order. That is me I don't like to be symmetrical so this is how I would fill in around my focal point on my centerpiece making sure that everything still is pointing to the focal point.
