The next thing I’m going to demonstrate to you is an over the top. Now we’re going to change directions on the step. Where I am standing is the front of the step. This is the back of the step and these are the sides of the step. You usually enter an over the top from the side and go off the step. When you step over the platform, your entire foot is on the bench, bringing your feet together, and step down giving yourself enough room for both feet to land on the floor, heels make contact with the floor. Step up and down. Step up and over. So this is an over the top. You’re just going over the top of the step. Lets pick up the pace. This is the basic over the top. Heels make contact with the floor. Glance down at the platform to make sure that you’re not going to trip over the bench. To add more power, you can hop on top of that step. If you ever add power, make sure it’s on top of the bench. You never want to hop on the floor, too much impact on those knees. The step gives resistance so you can hop on that bench. Step on the floor and hop on the step.
