Universal Remote Programming for DVR

Hi, my name is Tony Ramirez and on behalf of Expert Village this is how to program a universal remote control. Enjoy. Chapter 9-Programming for a DVR: In this chapter we're going to be programming for a DVR using a Logitech Harmony computer software. The first thing you're going to do is under your devices click, add new device. Once you're in the new device section choose the type of device you want, in this case we want a DVR. Click next. What type of DVR do we have? And here it's called a PVR, a personal video recorder, same exact thing. Click that one. Now we look for the manufacturer, in this case we're going to set up a Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD, click next. Type in the model number, again in this case, the Explorer 8300 HD, click next. Once the software has shown you that it's found it click next again. Now, what do you want this DVR to do when you press the button on the remote? The options are: I want to leave this device on all the time, I want to turn it off when it's not in use, or there's no power buttons on this current remote for the Scientific Remote. Of course we want to leave it on, I want to turn it off when it's not in use, click next. That's it. You've set up for your DVR. Enjoy.
