How to Ollie to a Boardslide When Skateboarding

This is Kyle Hovercamp at Skatechurch in Portland, Oregon. On behalf of ExpertVillage, this is the tutorial of how to do a boardslide on your skateboard. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to ollie onto and land on the object that you're going to be doing the boardslide on. You should already know how to approach the object, and you should be looking at the object. So, the first thing you're going to have to do is pop your ollie, swing your shoulders 90 degrees--and when you do that, your body will start turning, and it will turn your board. You land on the object. Keep the object in the middle of your board and your feet on the bolts. You're going to want to evenly distribute the weight between both your feet, so you're not leaning on one side or the other side. You're just balanced perfect. So you've got your feet on the bolts. Face forward--you have to make sure to face forward and keep your shoulders square, keep them forward. If you start turning your shoulders a little bit, your board will start turning; you'll lose your balance. Stay over your board. You have to stay over your board, because, if you lean forward, then it's going to stick, and you're just going to fly forward. If you lean back, it's going to slip out, and you're going to rack your butt on the object. It's a lot about balance. The main thing that you want to remember is when you pop your trick, get on the object, that you're facing forward, and your shoulders are also facing forward.
