Making a Homemade Birthday Card Using Rubber Stamps
Hi! I am Shelly Cordsen with Expert Village.com. In this segment, we are going to use rubber stamps and make a card. A set of 16 birthday cards and each one will be different depending on how you accent them. Okay, first of all, you are going to take eight different pieces of colored card stock. I tend to very seldom have enough cards for, I call masculine cards for my nephews, for the men in my life. So I am going to choose masculine colors. From those eight cards you are going to cut it where you have two 5.5 x 8.5 sheets and from these is what we will make are base of our cards. So we are not using pre-made cards, you are going to make it, so there is your note card. With the leftovers you will have two of these and one of these strips. You will take all your extra strips and cut them into 3 inches and you will have a whole stack of these 3 inch strips. These in the end you may have to cut up to make some more 3 inch strips, if not perfect matting for other cards to use all the same size. You will also need vellum strips and I have precut those for you and you will need a cream color piece of paper for our main card and those will be cut 5 X 3.5 and those will go on there. I have one particular stamp; I am using Happy Birthday with a black ink. You can use anything, you can do a thank you, you can do I love you, happy anniversary, you don’t have to do happy birthday, but that does seem to be the one card we are needing all the time at the last minute. Also as you can see here, we have fun colors. You can use bright colors for kids birthdays, you can use real pretty colors for the women colors, I call them, autumn colors, whatever occasion this is one card you can make, mass produce it, assembly line; have 16 done, just like that.
