Creating a Fire Escape Plan
In the event of a fire alarm or a smoke detector going off in your house, the first thing you should do is exit the house. Practice your EDITH exit drills in the home. If there is smoke, make sure that you stay low and check all the doors before you open them. Do not immediately call the fire department from your house. Go to the next door neighbors or from a cell phone outside once everybody is in their meeting place.
