How to Hold the Curling Iron When Creating a 1950s Hairstyle

Hi, my name is Jan Cuni, I'm a professional hairstylist and hair colorist. I work for Plaza Salon in Paramus. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. The curling iron, this is how you hold it and you comb the hair and start wrapping the hair around the curler, all the way to the root. Then you place the comb underneath so you don't burn the client. Hold it for a couple of seconds and release. There you go, you have a nice big curl. Now you do the same thing. You wrap the hair starting from the end, this way you don't get any frizz on the end.
