How to Sew the Strap for a Paperback Book Caddy

Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay, now we're going to sew our ribbon on. I've knotted my thread, and we're using the same brown thread. You can actually use a light thread and then get that in out pattern along the ribbon, but I have chosen the brown thread. We're going to sew very close to the edge. We're going to start underneath so that our knot is on the inside. Again, we're just doing a simple in and out stitch. Go right along the edge of the ribbon. Just pull that straight through. You're going to go all the way around. A pretty large stitch is fine. The ribbon doesn't take a lot of pressure when you're holding it, so you don't need a real small stitch. We'll continue this. You'll continue all the way down to the handle marking pin and then down the other side like this.
