How to Pin a Handle on a Paperback Book Caddy: Pt. 2

Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay, let's sew our other side. We're going to start at where our pin is marking the beginning of the handle. I'm going to pull the pins out so I don't run over them and break a needle. I got my eye on where it's supposed to go. You can back up to give it just a little bit of reinforcement there. Put the needle in to pivot. We're right on the edge of the ribbon. You can kind of pull the fabric and the ribbon taut to keep that ribbon straight as we're sewing. Go right down to our next handle marking. Put the needle in to pivot, rotate it, go to one edge, and then back up just to reinforce, put the needle in and pivot. I'm going to remove this pin so I don't run over it accidentally. I'm holding the ribbon and the fabric just taut. You don't want to pull on the machine, but just holding it taut and letting the machine take the fabric. Follow all the way down to close our little square. There, and then trim all your little threads on the front and the back. Then the last thing we'll do is put our bookmark in, and then we're finished.
