My name is Courtney on behalf of Expert Village and in this clip I'm going to show you an activity you can do with your kids to have them practice comparing sets of numbers. We're going to use pom-poms, you can use beans, pasta anything you have in the house but I'm going to use pom-poms. You'll need like a pipe cleaner or some popsicle sticks or something that you can make the greater than, less than sign with. Pipe cleaners are the best to use, I think, cause they're just really easy to bend. The next thing we're going to do is take our group and we're going to make two separate groups. We don't have to use all of our pom-poms but we're going to make two groups. Then we need to count the groups. There's twenty-nine here, and there's twenty-three here. So then your child would need to decide which group is bigger and place the greater than/less than sign to the appropriate group. Then you check and tell them correct or incorrect and then they do it again. They can pick and take, make two more groups, count them, and then compare using the greater than/less than sign.
