How to Make Seasoning for Pumpkin Seeds

Hi! This is Jenny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're going to do one my favorite things about Halloween. We're going to roast pumpkin seeds. Yum-yum. Before I toast my pumpkin seeds I like to make special seasonings to coat them with. I wanted to share with you 3 different kinds that I like to make. This first seasoning I like to make takes either 4 tablespoons of butter or you can use olive oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, canola oil, any kind oil that you would like to use. For this one, I simply add a half of a teaspoon of Mrs. Dash chipotle sauce. Another that I like to make is kind of sweet and salty at the same time. Because I have boiled and simmered my pumpkin seeds in saltwater, I don't need to add any salt to this but I use my 4 tablespoons of butter or oil. Then I use 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a half teaspoon each of ginger and all spice and coat the seeds with that. Another one that's really kind of fun to do is again, using your 4 tablespoons of butter or oil, a half a teaspoon of garlic salt, and 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce. You want to take those different seasonings, and if you're using butter of course, you're going to need to melt it. Microwave works fine. While those are melting, I'm going to divide my seeds up into 3 different bowls so that I have 3 different seasonings for my pumpkin seeds. As you experiment with different things, you can come up with just about anything that you can think of. Any of the spices in your kitchen, anything that you particularly like. You can go Asian, Thai, you can go Mexican, you can have a lemon pepper flavor to your pumpkin seeds. They're very versatile and you can do just about anything you'd like with those seeds. Sounds like the microwave is done. Let's get those out and see what we can do with them. For each one of these I want to stir them with a spoon so I get all those spices mixed in there and them pour it over my pumpkin seeds. Smells so good. I wish you could smell this as well as see it. Now, I have the seasoning on my pumpkin seeds. I'm going to let them sit a minute and then they will be ready to toast, ready for that special treat.
